Season 14 Mechanics

Defeat Realmwalkers to gain access to the Deathtoll Chamber for a chance of dropping a Superior Lair Key. Finish the seasonal questline to fight the final Lair Boss, and use Superior Lair Keys to open its cache for Pandemonium Fragments.
All Unique Items can now drop as or be converted to a Mythic Unique, which boosts their Unique Power by 30% and rolls maximum values for all affixes. Upgrade any Unique One-Handed Sword at the Horadric Cube with 5 Pandemonium Fragments until you obtain a Mythic
Staff of Lam Esen. Only one crafted Mythic Unique can be equipped at a time.
The previous Mythic Unique Items, such as
Harlequin Crest and
Ring of Starless Skies, have become Iconic Mythics.
All Uniques, Mythic Uniques, and Iconic Mythics now have two guaranteed affixes and two random affixes. One affix can be rerolled with Enchanting.

The Lord of Hatred expansion introduces Talismans as a new character progression system. Equip a Seal and place Charms into its slots for a significant power boost. The ideal Talisman setup for the Charged Bolts Sorcerer is listed below.
- Prioritize a Legendary Seal with a +1 Charm Slot affix to unlock a total of 6 Charm Slots.
- Insert all 5 pieces of Cain’s Wild Lightning Set Charms. Prioritize Charms with additional Ranks to Shock Skills, which applies to both

Unstable Currents. - Insert
Azurewrath to explode enemies that are Frozen by
Frost Nova.

- Hired Mercenary: Subo
- Skills:
Wire Trap,
Piercing Arrows,
Cover Fire,
Opening Fire
- Skills:
- Reinforcement: Raheir
- Skill: Bastion

Build Mechanics
The Charged Bolts Sorcerer utilizes Ferocity to fire additional projectiles per cast of
Charged Bolts. The default Maximum Ferocity (4) is increased by imprinting
Ferocious Aspect on an Amulet (+9) and the modifier on
Unstable Currents (+2) to reach the hard cap of 15 Maximum Ferocity. Charged Bolts fires 21 projectiles per cast with its modifiers and 15 Ferocity stacks. These projectiles can shotgun individual targets for devastating damage before piercing through every enemy to clear an entire screen.
Ferocity is generated by the Ferocity modifier on
Ball Lightning when it is triggered by
Unstable Currents.
The 100% Attack Speed bonus cap is easily reached due to 15 Ferocity stacks granting 75%, so you only need 25% in the character sheet while in town.
Staff of Lam Esen is highly recommended for general farming due to the seeking bolts, enabling
Charged Bolts to shotgun individual enemies from any range and clear all enemies multiple screens away. Keep a well-rolled Legendary Staff imprinted with
Aspect of Armageddon in your inventory for a quick swap when fighting bosses and pushing higher tiers of the Pit/Tower.
Aspect of Elemental Attunement is often activated due to the barrage of hits from
Charged Bolts, rapidly resetting
Ice Armor,
Flame Shield,
Teleport, and
Frost Nova.
Ice Armor grants a massive Barrier, increased Armor, and Unstoppable. The benefits can be refreshed every second when hitting enough enemies for a significant boost to survivability. Rank 17 Ice Armor (
Vex adds up to 3 Ranks while in combat) is recommended to grant 99% of your Maximum Life as Barrier, as Barrier is capped at 100% of your Maximum Life.
Flame Shield is modified by
Flash to grant Movement Speed and Dodge Chance, which can be kept active at all times if you are constantly hitting enemies. The Overpower modifier generates 3 stacks per cast.
Teleport is an effective Mobility Skill and, more importantly, pulls enemies towards you through
Raiment of the Infinite. Group enemies together to enhance area damage explosions from
Azurewrath and Cain’s Wild Lightning Set Charms. The
Blaze modifier consumes Overpower charges generated by the modifier on
Flame Shield to spam Teleport often.
Frost Nova generates Mana and applies Vulnerable to enemies through its modifiers. The Skill can be cast from the Skill Bar or triggered through the
Noc
Thul runeword, which often activates due to Lightning Bolts from Cain’s Wild Lightning.
Unstable Currents increases damage output and Maximum Ferocity stacks (2) with its modifiers. Obtain enough Cooldown Reduction and Ranks to Shock Skills for 100% uptime. Additional Ranks to Unstable Currents increase its duration and generate more Crackling Energy to be absorbed, resetting the Cooldown through its
Boundless modifier.
Rotation and Playstyle
Use the following rotation to optimize the playstyle:
- Keep
Unstable Currents active. - Spam
Ice Armor and
Flame Shield. These buttons can be held down if you tap
Charged Bolts. - Cast
Teleport to traverse or group enemies up with
Raiment of the Infinite. Use Evade Teleport when the Teleport on the Skill Bar is on Cooldown. - Cast
Frost Nova on enemies if they are not already frozen by the
Noc
Thul runeword. - Spam
Charged Bolts to deal damage. Stand close to elites and bosses to shotgun them for full damage output.
