Introduction

The Nahantu region (known as the Torajan Jungles to outsiders) is rich in lore and returns in Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred expansion. Kurast, a city overtaken by evil, was once the setting for battles against the Prime Evils, culminating in a confrontation with Mephisto. The area of Nahantu is filled with lush jungles and dark canopies, but this new region also includes the Teganze red-rock canyon, a desert landscape that will be an interesting shift after long journeys through the jungle.

Main Town: Kurast

Kurast is the main town hub of Nahantu, and has many NPCs as well as a waypoint for quick travel. Most notable shops such as the Blacksmith, Jeweler, and Occultist are located near the center area of the town, and using the town portal within Nahantu, will always teleport the player back to Kurast.

Waypoints

There are six Waypoints located within Nahantu.

Waypoints make it possible to move through a territory much more quickly than by walking or riding a mount alone. Traveling to World Boss Events, for instance, can be shortened by being aware of important Waypoints.

  • Kurast – Waypoint inside town, located inside the center area of Nahantu.
  • Kichuk – Waypoint located North of Nahantu in the Teganze Plateau. You must successfully unlock the stronghold to access this waypoint.
  • Ichorfall – Waypoint West of Kurast inside the Field of Giants area.
  • Gates of the Necropolis – Waypoint South West, in The Festering Dark. You must successfully unlock the stronghold to access this waypoint.
  • Samuk – Waypoint located South of the Five Hills.
  • Kurast Docks – Waypoint located Northeast of Lingering Hatred.

Renown and Completion

One of the most effective ways to increase your power is the completion of Renown activities! Throughout Nahantu, there is a lot to discover and explore. Either through doing Side Dungeons, collecting Altars of Lilith, liberating Strongholds, and more.

Here is a list of all known Nahantu Renown activities:

  • Waypoints: 6
  • Strongholds: 3
  • Side Quests:
  • Side Dungeons: 20
  • Altars of Lilith:
  • Areas that can be discovered:

You can always check your region progress by opening the Map and then decide how many Side Quests and Dungeons you still need, in order to collect all available Skill Points, Potion Charges, and Paragon Points.

We will publish a separate page that lists all of the Altars of Lilith in this zone, as well as their rewards.

Renown Rewards

Completing Renown activities throughout Nahantu will unlock the following rewards:

Stage 1 (Coming Soon)Stage 2 (Coming Soon)Stage 3 (Coming Soon)Stage 4 (Coming Soon)Stage 5 (Coming Soon)

Here is a short summary of things to do within Nahantu to gain Renown as quickly as possible:

  • Explore the entire region and discover all available Waypoints for quick travel.
  • Remember to check your Renown progress by opening the Map.
  • Clear out all three Strongholds, so that the areas become friendly.
  • Complete all (blue) Side Quests and Dungeons.
  • Collect all Altars of Lilith.

Strongholds

Strongholds are event areas that are marked by a red skull on the mini-map. They are occupied by different enemies which must be cleared out in order to unlock the area as a friendly part of the Region. In most cases, a Stronghold becomes a player-friendly town after it has been purged of enemies, however, it can also unlock a dungeon.

Each completed Stronghold grants 100 Renown and experience. Certain Waypoints and Dungeons will also only unlock after successfully purging the Stronghold. In total, there are three Strongholds that can be cleansed of evil within Nahantu:

  • Kichuk – Located in the north of Nahantu.
  • The Festering Dark – Located west of in Kurast.
  • Chakhir – Located South-east of Nahantu, East of Kurast.

World Boss

World Bosses in the zone of Nahantu are located within an area known as The Cauldron, Northwest of Kurast, the main town of this region.

World Bosses are big, terrible monsters that are dangerous to both melee, and ranged players. We recommend players to check out our World Boss Guides for more information.

It is always worth sticking around and fighting these strong encounters together with other players or friends, as world bosses can drop a special item called Scattered Prism, which is used to add sockets to certain slots of gear. Next to completing legion events, fighting world bosses is one of the best ways to farm Scattered PrismScattered Prism.

The Dark Citadel

This dungeon, the first of its sort in Diablo, will require players to group together and face a variety of challenges. It is an endgame activity resembling a raid, with punishing mechanics to push your characters to the next level. The dungeon is situated just North of Kurast between the Lingering Hatred area and the Teganze Plateau.

Kurast Undercity

Kurast Undercity is a new, challenging multistage, time-attack dungeon where you can control the difficulty and rewards. Set in the depths of Kurast, where a growing plague threatens Nahantu, you must search for a cure or plunder the Undercity’s hidden treasures.
