<p>Blizzard has fixed a bug where some Tortured chests in <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/helltide/">Helltides</a> were resetting improperly. These resets were being used by players to spend the crazy numbers of Cinders we&#8217;ve been getting since the patch. As you can imagine, <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/incredible-helltide-aberrant-cinder-increases-15000-per-tide/">with amounts going over 15,000</a>, players were getting very large amounts of loot. </p>

Diablo 4 Hotfixes: November 22nd – Tortured Chests in Helltides


<p>Along with the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/witchcraft-guide-season-7/">big Witchcraft borrowed power system</a>, Season 7 also brings new activities and a brand new type of reward to the game. So let&#8217;s dive into the Helltide-like zone events, Headrotten bosses we&#8217;re going to be chasing, and their rewards. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The New Zone Event: Headhunts</h2>



<p>The Tree of Whispers is expanding its bounties to brand new zone-wide events! These are called Headhunts and have us looking for escaped&#8230; well, heads, obviously. Headhunts feature new Whisper bounties and the new Headrotten enemy type to hunt down. </p>

<p>These events will be active in more than one zone in Sanctuary at once and shift locations just like Helltides. The goal (aside from just doing Whispers for Whisper&#8217;s sake) is to find the Headrotten. You do this by completing Whisper bounties and destroying Exposed Roots that will spawn once they are completed. Once destroyed they have a chance to spawn an Uprooted Cocoon, which has a Headless Husk or Fugitive Head (the boss variants of Headrotten) in them. The chances of finding these boss variants are increased by Torment tier and by the new Draught of Whispers elixir. </p>



<p>A very welcome new addition to these zones are the Ravens that will be active. At these locations you can turn in your Whisper bounties and get the rewards!  </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Headrotten Themselves</h2>



<p>The new enemies of the season, the Headrotten are affected by runaway heads from the Tree of Whispers. We&#8217;ll be hunting them down in the Headhunt zones, with many Whisper bounties related to them. We will also be gaining the season&#8217;s reputation currency, Restless Rot. </p>

<p>The Headless Husk and Fugitive Head are the boss variants of the Headrotten and will be our primary goal. Fugitive Heads in particular are the most valuable, as they can drop the Stolen Head, which you can trade at the new vendor Gelena at the Tree of Whispers for Occult Gems! </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Occult Gems</h2>



<p>Speaking of gems, they are a new socketable item that can only be used in jewelry. They come with defensives as well as unique powers, so as not to make our characters weaker in those key armor/resistance socket slots. Each one has 160 Armor and 8% Resist All. The gems are crafted by using the aforementioned Fugitive Heads, as well as Restless Rot (the seasonal currency) and actual gems at the Tree of Whispers vendor Gelena. They can also be upgraded by using the same materials. </p>

<p><strong>Friend of the Bog</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>While you have three or more Growth &amp; Decay Witch Powers slotted, you gain 10% primary stat, 10% Maximum Life and you are always Unhindered.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Moonlight Ward</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>For each rank in your slotted Unique Witchcraft Power, you gain 3% Damage Reduction and 1% Maximum Resistance to All Elements.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Dust Stone</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>For each of your Auras and Hexes an enemy is afflicted by, they take 4% increased damage from you.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Hungering Void</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>While you have an Aura active, pull Nearby enemies toward you every 8 seconds.<br></li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Rootholds</h3>



<p>And finally we have Rootholds. These are &#8220;micro-dungeons&#8221; which contain Headrotten as well, and can offer bonus challenges for extra rewards. You can access them by using Whisper Wood sigils which drop from Whisper Caches and Silent Chests (the ones you open with Obol keys). </p>

<p>Diablo 4&#8217;s Season 7 introduces a new borrowed power system called Witchcraft! Discover the abilities that define your build in Patch 2.1!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Master Three Schools of Witchcraft</h2>



<p>Witchcraft is divided into three potent schools, each offering unique gameplay styles</p>



<ol>
<li><strong>Eldritch</strong> &#8211; Harness destructive energies to unleash fire, shadow, and polymorphic magic. Abilities like Firebat Servants and Doom Orb devastate enemies while amplifying your damage output.</li>



<li><strong>Psyche</strong> &#8211; Manipulate the mind with defensive and offensive psychic attacks. Skills such as Aura of Lament slow foes while restoring your resources.</li>



<li><strong>Growth &amp; Decay</strong> &#8211; Contro life and death with restorative and decaying powers. Cast abilities like Poison Frog Servant or Aura of Siphonic to deal damage to enemies and heal yourself.</li>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Eldritch Powers</h3>



<p><strong>Firebat Servants</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>A deadly swarm of Firebats swarm enemies every 2 seconds, inflicting X total Fire damage over 1 total attack.</li>



<li>At Higher Ranks: Enemies are Stunned for 3 seconds after being hit 5 times by your Firebat Servants.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Abyssal Resonance</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Every 250 Resource spent, release an explosion dealing X Shadow damage. Each explosion triggered within 10 seconds of the last increases the size and damage by 130%. Stacking up to 3 times.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: The third explosion pulls enemies towards you before detonating.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Wave of Woe</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Release a Wave of Woe when damaging an enemy with your skills. Wave of Woe deals an additional X Shadow damage and echoes this damage to all other nearby enemies of the same type.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: Damage is increased by 15% each time damage is echoed and is guaranteed to echo at least 5 times. May strike the same target multiple times.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Purging Touch</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Eldritch Effects X increased damage against Headrotten.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: This damage bonus now extends to all monsters.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Shaken Soul</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Eldritch Effects apply Vulnerable to enemies for X seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: Damage from Psyche and Growth &amp; Decay Effects will also apply Vulnerable at half the duration.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Hex of Flames</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Lucky Hit: You have up to an X chance to apply Hex of Flames. Hex of Flames deals 1,600 additional Fire damage each time you deal damage to the target.</li>



<li>At Rank 7: Hex of Flames explodes dealing damage to all nearby enemies when you land a Critical Strike.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Doom Orb</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>An ominous orb of pure Eldritch energy circles you, damaging any enemy it touches for X Fire damage. Doom Orb may launch itself at distant enemies before returning.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: Kills or damage to Bosses empower the orb’s damage by 5%. After 100%, the orb explodes dealing 5,200 damage to nearby enemies before reforming 3 seconds later.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Psyche Powers</h3>



<p><strong>Life Link</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Automatically link your life force with up to 3 nearby enemies. X of the damage you take is shared with the linked targets as physical damage. Cannot Life Link to enemy Players.</li>



<li>At Rank 15: For 10 seconds after using a Defensive, Macabre of Subterfuge Skill, any linked damage will be a guaranteed Critical Strike.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Hex of Shattering</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Damage done by your Witchcraft Effects afflicts enemies with Hex of Shattering causing them to deal X reduced damage for 5 seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 8: When any Hex Effect is applied to Headrotten, all damage will be guaranteed Critical Strikes for 5 seconds.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Aura of Misfortune</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Enemies near you have X chance for their attacks to be interrupted. Does not work on bosses.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: Aura of Misfortune increases your Movement Speed by 5% and Slows enemies by 30%.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Aura of Lament</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>When you first strike an enemy, it is afflicted with an Aura of Lament that Slows it and other nearby enemies by 70%. For each enemy inside Aura of Lament, you gain 1 Primary Resource each second. If the initial enemy dies, Aura of Lament is passed onto another nearby enemy retaining the duration. Lasts X seconds.</li>



<li>Only 1 enemy may be afflicted at a time. May only occur every 30 seconds.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Vengeful Spirit</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Every 19 Seconds, a Vengeful Spirit Servant appears for X seconds. While active, all damage taken is instead taken by the spirit.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: When the Vengeful Spirit’s Life is fully depleted, it rushes towards up to 8 enemies dealing 2,000 Shadow damage.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Twilight Warding</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Every X seconds, gain a Barrier for 5 seconds absorbing 100 damage.</li>



<li>At Rank 12: Twilight Warding reflects enemy projectiles while active.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Growth &amp; Decay Powers</h3>



<p><strong>Poison Frog Servant</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Summon a Poison Frog Servant that attacks and Poisons enemies for X damage over 3 seconds. On death, the frog explodes violently dealing X Poison instantly damage to nearby enemies. This explosion will always Critically Strike.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: Poison Frog attacks will pull enemies towards itself and Taunt enemies for 1 second.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Soul Harvest</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Feed upon the life force of nearby enemies whenever you use a skill with a cooldown, increasing your primary stat by 3% per monster for X seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 9: Soul Harvest does not lose duration so long as enemies are nearby.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Hex of Whispers</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Dealing damage to an enemy afflicts them with Hex of Whispers that deals X Shadow damage the next time damage is dealt. Afterwards, Hex of Whispers will jump to another enemy up to a maximum of 6 times. Hex of Whispers may only be applied once every 5 seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 7: After bouncing onto 6 enemies, the hex bounces back to you granting X Fortify and removing all crowd control and negative status effects.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Decay Augmentation</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Your Witchcraft Effects deal X of the damage dealt over 5 seconds. The damage type is based on your class.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: When your damage-over-time effects exceed 85% of the target’s total Life, they immediately die.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Grow</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>After casting an Ultimate Skill, your Servants, Minions, and Companions are empowered with dark magics. Growing larger in size and dealing X bonus damage. Lasts 15 seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 11: Your Servants, Minions and Companions gain 100% Critical Strike Chance while enlarged.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Aura of Siphoning</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Conjure an aura of decay that deals X Poison damage to enemies every second.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: Each time Aura of Siphoning deals damage, you are healed for 1% of Maximum Life.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>The Cycle</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Dealing any damage with your skills has a 15% chance to grow a flower from the ground. When an enemy is near, the flower deals X Poison damage to that enemy over 5 seconds. If an ally is near, the flower heals for 6% maximum Life. The flower withers away after use. A flower may grow once every 5 seconds per enemy.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: The damage and healing affects all enemies or allies near the flower.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Lost Powers</h3>



<p><strong>Breath of the Coven</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Dealing damage or applying a Crowd Control effect with any of your Witchcraft Effects increases your Attack Speed by X for 10 Seconds, stacking once per unique Witchcraft Effect.</li>



<li>Witchcraft Effects are Eldritch, Psyche, and Growth &amp; Decay.</li>



<li>At Rank 8: Gain 40% Lucky Hit chance while bonuses from Eldritch, Psyche, Growth &amp; Decay are active at once.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Hex Specialization</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>Increase the potency of your Hex Effects by X.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: Increase the Critical Strike Chance by 10% against enemies afflicted by your Hex Effects.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Aura Specialization</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>The size of your Aura Effects are increased by X.</li>



<li>At Rank 10: Increase the Critical Strike Damage by 50% against enemies inside your Aura Effects.</li>
</ul>



<p><strong>Piranhado</strong></p>



<ul>
<li>When an enemy is afflicted by both a Hex and an Aura Effect, a Piranhado is summoned pulling enemies towards it and dealing X Physical damage over 12 seconds. May occur once every 20 seconds.</li>



<li>At Rank 5: Piranhado moves itself towards nearby enemies.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Unlock Witchcraft in Season 7</h2>



<p>To learn Witchcraft, you must collect <strong>Restless Rot</strong> from the <strong>Headrotten</strong>, a new enemy type in Season 7 enemies, in a new zone takeover called <strong>Headhunts</strong>.</p>



<p>When you collect enough <strong>Restless Rot</strong>, you will make an offering at Coven&#8217;s Altar near the Tree of Whispers to unlock and upgrade <strong>Witchcraft powers</strong>.</p>

<p>Additionally, you can unlock <strong>Witchcraft powers</strong> from the <strong>Coven&#8217;s Favor</strong> reputation grind in Season 6 from Whispers.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Equipping and Upgrading Witchcraft</h2>



<p>You can equip powers in the special <strong>Witchcraft menu.</strong> There&#8217;s an inventory at the bottom from where you can drag the powers to the top. You will have 5 normal slots and one unique power for special Witchcraft. Witchcrafts can be upgraded directly in the inventory using Restless Rot.</p>

Season 7 Deep Dive: The Armory Feature, Witchcraft, Occult Gems, New Runes, and More


<p>The Campfire chat has shown us many new items coming with the new season! The PTR starts on December 3rd, and here is everything Blizzard showed off. Keep in mind there will be more new items coming with the season, this just what has been revealed so far. The full patch notes arrive next Wednesday, November 27th.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">General Aspects</h2>



<p>First off we have some new things for all classes. Ultimates are getting buffed again and got their own Aspects, with one for an overall damage buff and skill ranks, and the other for Ultimate damage and cooldown resets. </p>

<p>Power</p>

<li>Hammer of the Ancients also forms a seismic line that deals its damage and Slows enemies hit by 60-80% for 4 seconds. Earthquakes it passes through explode for their total damage and are consumed.</li>

<p><strong>Of Incendiary Fissures Legendary Aspect</strong></p>

<li>Your Earthquakes deal 35-50% increased damage and their damage is converted into Fire.</li>

All New Unique Items and Legendary Aspects Revealed in Diablo 4 Season 7


<p>Blizzard have announced that the most requested feature ever is coming to Diablo 4! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Armory</h2>



<p>Players will now be able to save, name and change their builds! The Armory feature returns from Diablo 3 and allows players to have many builds saved and switch between them very easily. We will be able to access our Armory in the newly updated Tree of Whispers town, all other towns and a few other places, as you can see below.</p>

<li>Start by selecting an empty slot and save your build to begin.</li>
<li>Saving your loadout will capture the following: Equipped Items, Paragon Board and Glyphs, Skill Selections, and Class mechanic.</li>
<li>The Armory can be accessed across each major city in Sanctuary, and end-game hubs such as the Citadel, Tree of Whispers, and Training Grounds in Kyovashad.</li>
<li>If an item saved in your armory loadout is no longer available—whether from selling, trading, or salvaging—an icon will indicate the item is missing on the Loadout preview.</li>

<p>Blizzard have announced they will be fixing the recent elixir bug that was giving players literally millions of HP very soon. However, the very unintended interaction between the naughty elixir and player HP also affected some classes damage numbers. And it seems it broke the numbering system! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Too Much Damage Leads to Negative Damage</h2>



<p>In a pretty hilarious display bug, it seems the damage generated by this insane HP to damage interaction was simply too much for the game to handle. While we don&#8217;t know what the exact amount  was that caused the visual, we do know the game was able to show numbers up to undecillion (aka 36 zeroes), <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/35-undecillion-damage-thats-36-zeroes-barbarian-crit/">as we saw in a different bug back in Season 1</a>! However, this may no longer be the case. </p>

<p><br>We can see the hundreds of trillions up there, but the negative nine quintillion damage is the broken one. If you&#8217;re wondering why that specific number is showing up, it&#8217;s the maximum value of a 64 bit signed integer. </p>



<p>And if you want to know how exactly you get to that much damage, well, we&#8217;re not going to tell you as it&#8217;s a pretty solid exploit. However, since the bug is being fixed today, we will show you another insane thing that happens with it. The basis of all that damage above is the incredible health you can see below:</p>

<p><br>The bug is either already fixed or will be pretty soon today, and it&#8217;s not a good idea to use it even if it isn&#8217;t, as it&#8217;s pretty clearly an exploit. </p>


Insane HP Leads to Almost Infinite Damage and Breaks Damage Numbers After Elixir Buff Bug


<p>Blizzard is currently aware of a bug with Elixirs that causes players to have more health than intended. A fix for the issue will be deployed soon via a hotfix.</p>

Blizzard Investigating Elixir Health Bug


<p>It seems the Midwinter Blight event has turbocharged Cinder drop rates, as they&#8217;re basically 10 times more frequent! </p>



<p>Players have been noticing some insane numbers when it comes to Aberrant Cinders after today&#8217;s patch. We are seeing players opening every single Tortured chest with ease after only a short time spent in the Helltide. Aside from the special event enemies sometimes spawning in ambushes and the Red-Cloaked Horror occasionally replacing Hellborne, the actual drop rate of Cinders is through the roof. </p>



<p><a href="https://x.com/Rob_2628">Rob </a>went over the changes and estimated you can get around 1,000 Cinders per Blood Maiden run easily. He even managed to get over 15,000 with 8 minutes to go in a tide! </p>

<p>Now obviously these are extreme streamer numbers, but many more players have been reporting being able to clear the entirety of a Helltide&#8217;s chests after 30 minutes. </p>
