Build Introduction
The Incinerate Sorcerer build features a straightforward playstyle with minimum requirements, making it the perfect starter build for new players. Incinerate pierces through all enemies to kill entire packs, while
Flamethrower’s Aspect shotguns tougher elites and bosses with three beams at once.
Season 10 Update (Patch 2.4.0): The power of this build is significantly increased by the Chaos Perks and Chaos Armor available in the seasonal theme. Be sure to check the Season 10 Mechanics section for the best-in-slot setup.
If your character has not reached Level 60, follow the Leveling Guide for the Incinerate Sorcerer.
Check the build tier lists to see how this build compares to others on Icy Veins.

- High single-target damage.

Skill Bar and Skill Tree Points
The Skill Tree above shows the full allocation of 71 Skill Points for the Incinerate Sorceress build. Make sure you obtain the 12 Skill Points available from Renown.
Fire Bolt is only allocated as a prerequisite to unlock the next Skill cluster. Do not equip it on the Skill Bar.
Hoarfrost is activated by
Frost Nova. The damage increase is automatically applied to Staggered Bosses, as they count as being affected by all types of crowd controls.
When Mana Shield is equipped as a Chaos Perk in Season 10, Barrier is no longer effective due to the reduced Maximum Life. Reallocate Skill Points from
Protection (3) and
Align the Elements (1) to
Inferno (5) and
Teleport (4). Switch
Shimmering Ice Armor to
Invoked Familiar in the Passive Tree and Skill Bar.
Wondering what comes after Level 60? Head to the Paragon Board section to power up the build even further. If you want to see how everything plays out in combat, check out the Rotation and Playstyle section for a quick breakdown.
Sorcerer Class Mechanic – Enchantments
Non-Ultimate Skills can be equipped in two available Enchantment Slots. A skill must have at least one skill point allocated to it in order to be used in the Enchantment Slot. Skill points that have been granted through gear work as well.
Slot Fireball in the first Enchantment Slot for explosions to help against groups of enemies.
Slot Teleport in the second Enchantment Slot to enable an Evade Teleport.

For more details, check the Tempering and Masterworking guides.
A Staff is selected for the highest weapon damage and 2x bonus effect for Flamethrower’s Aspect.
Critical Strike Damage is beneficial for Burning Instinct until the damage bonus is capped.

Build Mechanics
Incinerate deals high Fire Damage Over Time by Burning enemies with a beam that ramps up damage over 2 seconds. The piercing beam makes it easy to clear groups of enemies that are lined up.
Flamethrower’s Aspect is important to enable the Incinerate Sorcerer to deal high single-target damage against bosses. All 3 beams can shotgun an individual target, outputting some of the highest damage possible for a Sorcerer in the early stages of the game.
Vulnerable status is applied to groups of enemies with Mystical Frost Nova.
Critical Strike Damage is applied to Burning Damage with Burning Instinct from Paragon. This allows us to benefit from Critical Strike Damage on gear.
Rotation and Playstyle
Optimize DPS with the following rotation.
- If you have
Raiment of the Infinite, cast
Teleport on enemies to group and stun them.
- Cast
Frost Nova to Freeze and apply Vulnerable to groups of enemies.
- Cast
Inferno to boost damage.
- Channel
Incinerate as long as possible to ramp up damage.
- Cast
Flame Shield or
Ice Armor for protection and Unstoppable when needed.
Elixirs and Incenses
Visit the Alchemist in any main town to craft helpful Elixirs, or find Elixirs by killing enemies or opening chests during various activities in Diablo 4. Listed below are the best Elixirs to consume for the Incinerate Sorcerer, ranked by importance.
Elixir of Resourcefulness II helps with Mana issues, if you do not already have the appropriate Mana gear. This elixir is highly recommended for starting characters to maintain constant channeling of
Incinerate.
Elixir of Fortitude II is the best general-purpose option for survivability.
Incense can also be crafted at the Alchemist. Sage’s Whisper (Core Stat),
Song of the Mountain (Defensive), and
Soothing Spices (Resistance) are recommended. These Incenses are categorized into three separate groups and can be active simultaneously. The added Armor and Resistances are especially helpful to reach their caps.
Evade Teleport Speed-Farming Setup
Teleport Enchantment enables an Evade Teleport, which is the primary Movement Skill used to traverse quickly while speed-farming. Evade Teleport becomes more readily available than the Teleport on the Skill Bar in this setup.
To get started with the Evade Teleport speed-farming setup, reduce the starting Cooldown of Evade Teleport to 3 seconds or less to refresh it after every two attacks with the proper implicit stat on Boots. Once you obtain Harlequin Crest, an Evade Cooldown of 1.5 seconds is possible to cast it after every Attack. Depending on your Attack Speed, 1.7 seconds on Evade Cooldown can still be optimal to account for a casting animation.
Follow the list below to optimize the Cooldown of Evade Teleport:
- Equip Boots with the implicit stat, Attacks Reduce Evade’s Coodown by 1.5 Seconds.
- Temper Evade Cooldown Reduction on your Boots (with Masterworking bonuses).
- Boost Cooldown Reduction affixes on gear with Greater Affix and Masterworking bonuses.
- Obtain
Enchantment Master in the Paragon setup to reduce the Cooldown of Evade Teleport.
- Invest 5 Skill Points into
Teleport to reduce the Cooldown of both versions.
Harlequin Crest, with a Greater Affix and/or Masterworking bonuses applied to its Cooldown Reduction affix, is required to reach the 1.5-second breakpoint on Evade Teleport.
