Build Introduction
Earth and Sky collide with the Landstorm Druid! This is the Dual-Core
Landslide
Lightning Storm build, sometimes called Lightningslide, Slidestorm, or the LSLS druid. Using hard casts of
Landslide with Key passive
Nature’s Fury, this build unleashes a high volume of empowered
Lightning Storm in a wide coverage.
This is a throwback build excelling in Infernal Hordes and tailored for that content, and will excel in the rest of open world content. Updates to
Nature’s Fury allow the build to shine again. This will be a Human
Petrify version of the build by default.

Strengths and Weaknesses
- Easy AoE Farmer.
- Strong in open world.
- Not the best Pit Pusher.
- Requires some Spirit management.

Quick Navigation
This guide covers everything necessary to get started on the Landstorm Druid, including Skill Tree points, Paragon, Gearing, and Seasonal updates. Jump to the sections you’re looking for here:
Skill Bar and Skill Tree Points
Nature’s Fury will favor triggering a Skill assigned to the Skill Bar. With
Lightning Storm on the Bar, this means more Lightning Storms and fewer Tornadoes.
Eternal players complete Renown events in each zone for additional Skill Points, while Seasonal Players engage with the Season Journey and Rank for these Skill points.
See how these Skills play in the Rotation and Gameplay section.
Druid Class Mechanic – Spirit Boons
Druids unlock powerful Spirit Boon passives, giving offerings to the animal spirits to receive their Blessing. Once fully unlocked, activate the final Boon by Spirit Bonding with one of the four animal spirits to take two passives from that row.
| Boon Name | Animal | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Gift of the Stag | Deer | Gain 30 Spirit. Gain 10 Spirit Per Second. |
| Swooping Attacks | Eagle | Gain 20% Attack Speed. |
| Avian Wrath | Eagle | Gain 40% Critical Strike Damage. |
| Energize | Wolf | Lucky Hit: Dealing damage has up to a 15% chance to restore 100 Spirit. |
| Overload | Snake | Dealing damage with Storm Skills, Lightning Bolts, and Dancing Bolts also applies an additional 20% Poisoning damage over 5 seconds. Lucky Hit: Dealing Poison damage has an up to 35% chance to summon a Lightning Bolt on the target dealing 120% damage. |
Druid’s primary resource is Spirit. See the Spirit Management Section on how to keep casting!
Gear, Stats, Gems, and Runes
Check these sections for all important Landstorm gearing considerations to improve the power of your character in the endgame.
Legendary Aspects
Gear Slots with multiple options are listed in recommended priority. Any slot with a Mythic Unique or Unique Item will include a valid alternative legendary power to use while still leveling and gearing. Combine these with the right stat priorities.
| Slot | Aspect | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Staff | Aspect of Natural Balance | Casting a Storm Skill grants your Earth Skills 50-70% Critical Strike Damage for 4 seconds. Casting a Earth Skill increases the Critical Strike Chance of Storm Skills by 10- 15% for 4 seconds. |
| Helm | Unique – | While in Human form, every [300 – 150] Nature Magic Critical Strikes, or [60 – 30] against Bosses, grant Anima of the Forest for 15 seconds. Anima of the Forest grants the Perfect Storm and Earthen Might Key Passives. |
| Chest | Mythic – Juggernaut’s Aspect | If you haven’t dealt damage in the last 2 seconds, gain Stealth and 40% Movement Speed. |
| Gloves | Unique – | Lightning Storm gains 1 additional strike each times it grows. Lightning Storm Critical Strikes cause lightning to strike twice, dealing 60-100% increased damage. |
| Pants | Unique – | You deal 10-20% increased damage while Unstoppable and for 5 seconds after. When you become Unstoppable, gain 50 of your Primary Resource. |
| Boots | Unique – Khassim Steppewalkers Aspect of Metamorphosis | Now: Damaging 150-100 Enemies with Nature Magic Skills grants Max Movement Speed and Unhindered for 4-8 seconds. Enemies you run through are Immobilized for 1 second. |
| Amulet | Aspect of Retaliation | Your Core Skills deal up to 35-75% increased damage based on your amount of Fortify. |
| Ring | Unique – Crashstone Aspect | Casts of Landslide leave behind Tectonic Spikes that deals Physical damage over 2 seconds. Spawning a Landslide pillar within Tectonic Spikes has a 20-30% chance to spawn two instead. |
| Ring | Mythic – Accelerating Aspect | Spending your Primary Resource reduces the Resource cost of your Skills and increases your damage by 10% for 3 seconds, up to 50%. |
Staff is chosen for its attack speed. The damage over time inherent on Staff will not be of much value, but most weapon inherent affixes are low-value additives. If another 2-handed weapon type has better gear affixes rolled on it, use that instead.
See how this build compares to the rest at our Endgame Build Tier List.
Stat Priority and Tempering Affixes
Each line of affixes is listed in order of importance, with some alternatives given. The bolded affixes are the most important targets for Greater Affixes and Masterwork Critical Increases. Check the Tempering guide and Masterworking guide for more details about these topics.
| Slot | Stats | Tempering |
|---|---|---|
| Staff – Legendary Aspect | Willpower Max Life Spirit Cost Reduction Critical Strike Damage | |
| Helm – Unique | Willpower% Ranks to Humanity Armor Movement Speed while in Human Form | |

After gearing, look at progression systems like Paragon next.
Uniques and Mythic Uniques
The following Unique Items are recommended for the Landstorm Druid.
Gathlen’s Birthright gives strong affixes for a Human build, periodically granting access to additional Key Passives
Perfect Storm and
Earthen Might. Because of the volume of Critical Strike attacks Landstorm puts out, downtime to charge Anima of the Forest will be minimal.
Unsung Ascetic’s Wraps boost
Lightning Storm, causing the storm to grow faster and sending an empowered double strike on Critical Strike.
Tibault’s Will damage multiplier will be up frequently thanks to
Enhanced Earthen Bulwark. This is also a solid source of Spirit as necessary.
- Khassim Steppewalkers offer good affixes and some mobility. The Nature Magic Cooldown will be useful for Earthen Bulwark and Petrify. This is a flexible option with just a standard Legendary Boots with
Aspect of Metamorphosis, which would grant another Unstoppable source for
Tibault’s Will. Seasonal Characters can easily swap this out for a Chaotic Armor of their choice.
Earthbreaker is a flex choice. While the affixes for Earth Attack Speed and Chance for extra Landslide Projectiles are strong, the unique affix extra landslides no longer trigger extra Nature’s Fury chances for Lightning Storms.
Mythic Unique Items
Shroud of False Death +1 to all Skill Passives is exceptionally strong, as it is for all builds. The large All Stats category will also complete many Paragon Rare Node Secondary Bonuses.
Gems and Runewords
The following are the recommended Gem and Runeword setups for the Landstorm Druid:
Gems
| Weapon Gems | Armor Gems | Jewelry Gems |
|---|---|---|
For Increased Critical Strike Damage | For increased Willpower | For All Resistances |
Runewords
Use these Runeword combinations for the Landslide Druid, into Armor slots:
| Runeword Combination | Effects |
|---|---|
| Igni Yom | |
| Ahu Qax | Lucky Hit: Up to a 100% chance against non-Healthy enemies. |
Runewords use a conditional Rune of Ritual to generate Offering. The Offering is consumed by the Rune of Invocation to trigger its effect. Runes replace Gems in gear with two sockets. Up to two sets of Runeword Pairs can be placed at a time.
Resource – If you cannot maintain your Spirit while using
Qax, swap it for another option like
Poc
Lum.
Speedfarm – For farm content where
Qax is overkill, use
Bac
Jah for mobility.
While leveling and gearing before legendary Runes become accessible, many Magic and Rare runewords, such as
Gar for Critical Strike Chance, will be viable.
Paragon Board
Use these Glyphs, Boards, and pathing for the Landstorm Druid.
The road to max Paragon is long. The above Paragon tabs show the following:
- The BASE SETUP tab spends 50 fewer points than the max 328 points, taking a stricter pathing to take almost all Legendary, Rare, and Magic Nodes, and activates all Glyph Nodes with their secondary effects.
- The FULL SETUP tab completes the Paragon Board in its final form, filling in the rest of the board to get the rest of the Magic and Rare Nodes, as well as giving additional additive bonuses, especially within the Glyph areas.
Glyphs have two significant breakpoint increases. At level 15, the glyph grows in radius and gains a special effect. At level 46, the glyph grows to its max radius and gains a strong conditional damage multiplier.
Glyphs are placed as if they are at least level 15+ in radius. Total Boards placed are now limited to a max of 5; the Starter Board and four Class Boards. Rotate boards as necessary.
Season 11 Mechanics
Divine Gifts
Earn Corrupted Essences by defeating the Lesser Evils in their associated content. These Essences can be transformed into Divine Gifts by Hadriel. Divine Gifts have three aspects.
- Increased reward in the associated content
- A purified effect
- A corrupted effect
Slotting an Essence into the Purified slot grants double drop rewards and a boon, while slotting an Essence into the Corrupted slot grants normal drop rewards and a curse. Upgrade these gifts by engaging with their content. Leveling these Gifts increases the drop rewards while the boon and curse stay the same.
Here is a general setup for Divine Gifts:
Helltides – Duriel
- Purified: Essence of Pain – Briefly gain maximum Barrier after becoming Injured, every 20 seconds.
- Corrupted: Essence of Squallor
World Bosses – Azmodan
- Purified: Essence of Sin – Gain 20% increased Armor.
- Corrupted: Essence of Hellfire
Kurast Undercity – Andariel
- Purified: Essence of Anguish – Gain 30% Movement Speed.
- Corrupted: Essence of Screams
- Note: If you are already move speed capped or need extra defense, swap the Andariel Gifts for a 20% Resistance boost to defense.
Belial – The Pit
- Purified: Essence of Lies – Fortify for 1% of your Maximum Life a second.
- Corrupted: Essence of Shadows
These Gifts can be freely swapped based on desired rewards. For example, swap the Belial Gifts to earn more gold while in the Pit.
Sanctification
Hadriel offers a final gamble to empower items. Use the Heavenly Forge to Sanctify the item, imbuing the item with heavenly power.
Sanctifying is the final change for an item. After Sanctifying the item, it cannot be upgraded, masterworked, tempered, or otherwise altered, including its Aspect. Runes and Gems can still be swapped.
Options that can happen include:
- Apply a bonus Legendary power
- Improve an Affix into a Greater Affix
- Add a bonus Affix from a pool of special Sanctification affixes
- Replace an existing Affix with a random Sanctification affix
- Add a random amount (5-25) of bonus Quality
Some of the jackpot desirable Sanctifications include +Ranks to All Skills, useful Affixes like Critical Strike Chance, or Offensive Generic Legendary Aspects. The potential Quality Increases will be especially strong on a weapon, increasing its DPS. Other options can ruin your item, such as replacing a necessary existing affix.
Mercenaries
Main Mercenary – Varyana, the Berserker
- Core Skill:
Cleave,
Hysteria,
Bloodthirst,
Bloodlust
Reinforcement – Raheir, the Shieldbearer
Once unlocked, Mercenaries are followers that aid the Player in combat. A main mercenary is chosen to fight alongside you, granting strong buffs or perks, and a secondary Mercenary is chosen to periodically Reinforce you under a chosen Opportunity condition.
Hysteria and Bloodlust will both give strong Attack Speed bonuses. Crater will help group enemies. Other options for Mercenaries are valid, such as Subo’s minimap tracking and
Cover Fire, or Raheir for Armor as needed.
Build Mechanics
Rotation and Playstyle
The Landstorm Gameplay is straightforward.
- Cast
Landslide to trigger
Nature’s Fury
Lightning Storm.
Supporting Skills apply debuffs, buffs, or help generate Spirit.
Petrify grants Spirit, stuns enemies, and applies a Critical Strike damage debuff.
Blood Howl heals and grants attack speed.
Earthen Bulwark grants Unstoppable and Barrier. This unstoppable grants Spirit via
Tibault’s Will.
Cyclone Armor is largely passive, granting a defense against non-physical attacks. - If used, Evading with
Aspect of Metamorphosis can trigger Unstoppable for
Tibault’s Will.
Skills, Support, and Synergies
A significant part of what boosts
Lightning Storm damage is the
Nature’s Fury effect that auto-cast triggers from Nature’s Fury have both the Storm Tag and the Earth Tag. This means your Lightning Storm can benefit from high-value Passives and Multipliers like:
Earthen Might Key Passive for Critical Strike Damage- Earthen Devastation legendary paragon node Critical Strike Damage
- Skill passive effects for Earth Skills, including
Crushing Earth,
Safeguard, and
Stone Guard. - Both parts of
Natural Disaster will separately apply. - Both parts of
Aspect of Natural Balance will apply. - If used,
Crashstone Aspect will work against Crowd-Controlled enemies.
Lightning Storm is also boosted by effects like
Unsung Ascetic’s Wraps, granting a double strike on Critical Strike and other generic modifiers like
Aspect of Retaliation.
Poisoned Condition for
Envenom is applied with Overload Spirit Boon and Sinister Tendrils.
Fortify is built with
Safeguard.
This build has no Werebear skills or buff maintenance to worry about, making it simply Unbearable.
Spirit Management
This build can be Spirit-hungry. We have several ways we manage Spirit:
- Gift of the Stag Spirit Boon for Spirit and Spirit Per Second.
- Energize Spirit Boon to periodically restore Spirit.
Tibault’s Will for periodic Spirit when gaining Unstoppable from
Earthen Bulwark.- Casts of
Petrify Restore Spirit, including from
Yom. - Gear Affixes like Spirit Cost Reduction on Weapon.
Ring of Starless Skies grants up to 5 stacks of 10% Spirit Cost Reduction. - Any gear affixes for Spirit Cost Reduction, Spirit per Second, and Resource Generation
If these are insufficient to keep Casting your
Landslides, try one or more of the following:
- Exchange
Qax for
Poc
Lum - Target more gear affixes with Spirit Cost Reduction, Spirit per Second, and Resource Generation.
- Swap Overload Spirit Boon for Calm Before the Storm.
- Use your evade with
Aspect of Metamorphosis to trigger
Tibault’s Will - Play with
Cataclysm and
Mjölnic Ryng to solve Spirit entirely (See variant below)
Cataclysm Landstorm
For a damage hit, you can opt to swap
Petrify for
Cataclysm. This can be the right choice early on, before you get your
Ring of Starless Skies to make Spirit Management and your farm content simpler. To play into this Ultimate:
- Swap ranks in
Petrify for
Cataclysm. - Use
Mjölnic Ryng. Mastercraft ranks in
Endless Tempest. - Swap ranks in
Catastrophe for
Endless Tempest. - Swap Resource tempers for any resource generation or Petrify Cooldown for Cataclysm Cooldown.
- If necessary, use Calm Before the Storm spirit boon or
Zec. - Note – There’s also an option to just keep
Petrify and still use
Mjölnic Ryng – your
Nature’s Fury Petrifies will often be casting
Cataclysm anyways!
Elixirs, Incense, and Health Potions
The Alchemist offers helpful consumables at the cost of foraged materials found throughout Sanctuary.
- Craft
Elixir of Advantage II for Attack Speed and Lucky Hit bonuses. - One of each Incense Category can be used, for a total of three active Incenses at a time. In priority:
- Defensive –
Reddamine Buzz for Max Life. - Core Stat –
Blessed Guide for Willpower. - Resistance –
Soothing Spices for All Resist, All Resist Maximum, and Armor.
- Defensive –
Season 11 Updates
Note that there are lots of sweeping changes to defensive systems, gearing, masterworking, tempering, and season journey. Don’t be afraid to take a couple of extra defensive choices over previous seasons to keep things smooth.
PTR notes indicated
Bad Omen would cast Lightning Storm Strikes, but it is probably just Lightning Bolts instead, so is not taken. Will recheck once season goes live.
