Diablo 4 has undergone dozens upon dozens of reworks to its gameplay systems since launch. Many of which were for the better. As the game continues to grow, plus with Lord of Hatred on the horizon, there are still many parts of Diablo 4 that need reworks.
Hell Wasn’t Built in a Day

Game design is not easy, and it takes several passes to get mechanics right, but sometimes the best thing to do is just to invoke or bring forth the successful stuff from the past. Blizzard is keen on doing this more and more for Diablo 4. It’s been mentioned countless times throughout Sanctuary Sitdowns and continues to pop up throughout the ongoing seasons.
Some of the most impactful reworks for Diablo 4 have been:
- Aspects
- Nightmare Dungeons
- Capstone Dungeons
- Tempering & Masterworking
- Vendor & Crafting
- Healing Potions
- & Much More
There are tons and tons of reworks that have been sprinkled throughout Diablo 4’s development. Most players have already forgotten about changes like the one to mounts, which allowed them to charge through barricades.
But not every rework has been met with positivity. The most often discussed one is the Battle Pass, which many players found to be a massive downgrade. But change requires feedback, so which system would you want to see reworked?
What Reworks Does Diablo 4 Need?

There have already been reworks to the basic combat and AI of enemies, and Lord of Hatred is bringing new endgame crafting systems with the return of the Horadric Cube and the full Skill Tree rework. But there are still many changes players have been asking for.
One such rework we recently highlighted was the armor dye system, and the battle pass armors are often another huge request.
PVP has also been completely left in the dust, and there’s little incentive to participate in it, unless you don’t have some of the cosmetic unlocks. But as D4’s power scaling grows, PvP will become increasingly more difficult to find reason or fairness to partake in.
Returning events would also value some rework. Seemingly, every time that a season has a few months left, the same few events will rotate back in. Gift of the Tree & March of the Goblins, & Mother’s Blessing are the most common, which do offer meaningful catch-up systems, but are often not exciting enough to have most players return.
But what rework would you want to see in Diablo 4?
