Diablo’s official Twitter account recently shared a simple but intriguing post with a full map of Sanctuary, captioned “Not my home, but I know my way around.”
At first glance, it looks like just another cool post answering to Dungeons & Dragons’ post about their own world. But for long-time fans, it instantly raised one big question, how well do we really know Sanctuary? And, are we going to visit all those locations in Diablo 4 again?
The Current Diablo 4 World
Right now, Diablo 4’s version of Sanctuary covers six playable regions:
Together, they make up a huge open world, easily the largest in series history.
Players have spent hundreds of hours running through these lands, from snow-covered monasteries to demon-infested swamps. But when you look at the full map of Sanctuary… this is only half of the map!

The left side is not present in Diablo 4 right now, and players are starting to wonder if we will get to explore it all eventually!
The Missing Zones
A new zone will most likely be added with the next expansion, that is set to release in 2026. Logically, it should be an area that connects directly to the current world map.
That points to a few different locations: the Skovos Isles, Xiansai, or the Dreadlands. Most players seem to be betting on the Dreadlands. There is also a lot of talk about Westmarch eventually becoming a key part of Diablo 4, but since it is located pretty far from the current regions, it might only show up in a later expansion!
Considering how Blizzard loves revisiting classic locations, it is hard not to wonder if these will make a return in the future.
If Blizzard follows the same pattern as past Diablo titles, we could see the story expand West into the desert, or south towards the Islands. Maybe even some sort of boat related gameplay to cross the ocean in between?
Either way, the post definitely feels like a small tease, or a reminder that Sanctuary is much bigger than what we have explored so far in Diablo 4.
