Urivar is one of the more tricky bosses in Diablo IV. He stands in the center of the arena, surrounded by guards. If you rush in without a plan, you’ll likely die quickly, especially from his powerful light and sword attacks.

We broke down the comments and gathered the best tips and tricks to help you prepare, survive, and consistently beat Urivar.
Prepare Before the Fight
- Use a
Grand Ruby on your Jewel for a nice boost.
- Drink an elixir such as
Heady Assault Elixir to increase your Attack Speed, or one that will increase your damage.
- Use three different incenses:
Soothing Spices is a good one. If your armor is weak, try
Song of the Mountain for extra defense.
- Fire resistance is key. Urivar uses a lot of fire-based attacks. Make sure your gear has fire resistance bonuses.
- Add mobility skills if you struggle with dodging. Evade cooldown reduction (CDR) helps a lot.
During the Fight
- Hit Urivar hard when he first drops in. Try to do as much damage as you can at the start.
- Then run away from the center and focus on killing the guards around the edge of the arena.
- Stay far from the middle when Urivar returns. That’s when he uses his strongest attacks.
- Keep moving! Some of his attacks, like falling swords or chasing beams, can one-shot you if you stop moving.
- Look out for signs of big attacks:
- Sword raised means a line attack in front of him.
- Silver beams from the sky means chasing attack. Keep running to dodge it.
Repeat and Win
The strategy is simple: Hit > Avoid > Clear mobs > Repeat. Urivar becomes easier once you learn his patterns. If you want more details about each of his mechanics or how to avoid them, you can take a look at our in-depth Urivar guide:
Best Urivar Boss GuideIf you can farm other bosses at the same level easily, then you’re ready. It means you just need to improve your fire resistance, movement, and practice your dodge skills, and you’ll get him down soon! You can also farm him on T3 instead of T4, as the difference in rewards is really minimal and will not change much.
