Season 12 Updates
Season 12 will bring new content and systems to Diablo 4.
- Killstreak System
- Defeating enemies in rapid succession will now trigger the new Killstreak feature, similar to the Killstreak system in Diablo 3. Players will receive bonus experience and seasonal reputation, increasing as their Killstreak grows higher within a certain timeframe, before ending with a final score based on the number of kills acquired.
- Bloodied Items
- These are a new gear type that adds the Bloodied affix, offering new bonuses to gameplay based on your current Killstreak, such as increased damage, material drops, and more.
- New Seasonal Activities – Bloodied Sigils
- Nightmare Dungeons and other content get a little bit harder with these new Bloodied Sigils. Offering a tougher challenge with a higher chance of Bloodied Items dropping. Players must be prepared, as they are not the hunters but the hunted when using a Bloodied Sigil, as The Butcher prepares to end their run early.
- New Unique Items
- Five new unique items have been added, most being usable by all classes, with a few being weapon-specific.
- New Quality of Life & System Changes
- Slaughterhouse Dungeons
- Based on information from the Season 12 PTR, these seem to be a new seasonal dungeon, mentioned in the seasonal achievement system with a seasonal dungeon icon. We should receive more information during the March 5th livestream event from Blizzard.

New With Season 12
The newest season features new activities in Bloodied Sigils, new Bloodied Items, a returning Killstreak system from Diablo 3, new Unique items, new Quality of Life & System adjustments, and new Reliquaries to unlock.
Killstreaks

By killing multiple enemies quickly in Season 12, players will begin to rack up a Killstreak counter. These come in multiple tiers: Killstreak, Carnage, Devastation, Bloodbath, and Massacre. The timer for a Killstreak constantly ticks down, with the timer resetting as long as an enemy continues to be damaged by direct damage, making DoTs initial damage only count towards the reset. Once the timer fully expires, the player will receive a massive chunk of experience and seasonal reputation. However, if the player dies during the Killstreak, then the streak and its rewards are lost.
Killstreaks begin after killing 15 enemies within a short amount of time.
This new feature also plays a large role in the overall season theme, with some powers increasing based on your current Killstreak or kill count.
Bloodied Items – New Seasonal Affix

These “Bloodied Items” are a new type of drop players can receive, and not an affix that can be added through crafting. Most of the affixes are linked to Killstreaks, requiring a certain number of kills to activate or scaling based on the current Killstreak tier.
Bloodied Items come in three categories:
- Rampage (Armor Only)
- Features Bloodied Affixes that increase in power based on Killstreak tier.
- Example: Gain 7% Movement Speed per Killstreak tier.
- Feast (Weapons Only)
- These Bloodied Affixes trigger based on the total number of kills in a streak.
- Example: Every 25 kills, gain Berserking for 6 seconds.
- Hunger (Jewelry Only)
- This Bloodied Affix type gives the player extra rewards once their Killstreak has ended, or enhances the bonuses during a streak.
- Reward Example: Increased Gold or Obols rewarded at the end of a streak.
- Enhance Example: Gain Fortify per second based on your Killstreak tier.
These Bloodied Affixes can appear on any normally dropped piece of gear, including Uniques and Mythics, opening up some extremely high-roll loot potential.
Bloodied Sigils

New modifiers have been added to existing activities, making them far tougher than before and offering even greater rewards that synergize with the new Killstreak system.
- Mechanics of Bloodied Sigils
- Relentless Butcher Affix. Each Bloodied Sigil always has this affix attached, causing the activity to spawn an empowered version of the Butcher that will hunt the player non-stop.
- Even if defeated, the Relentless Butcher will respawn immediately and continue hunting the player.
- It is possible to have two Butcher encounters at once. One being the Relentless Butcher, and another being the normal version players are familiar with.

Bloodied Sigils can begin to drop once you enter Torment I. Their difficulty is always one tier higher than the one you activated it on.
Example: Activating on Torment I makes the Bloodied Sigil Nightmare Dungeon a Torment 2 difficulty.
With the increased difficulty level and the threat of the Relentless Butcher partnering with another regular Butcher, this new activity could prove quite the challenge.
- Bloodied Sigils can drop for multiple activities:
- Nightmare Dungeons
- Infernal Hordes
- Lair Bosses
These new Bloodied activities have a guaranteed chance for at least one Bloodied Item to drop, making them the ideal location to farm the seasonal gear. They’re also incredibly enemy dense, making them a great spot to farm experience and reputation.
Slaughterhouse Dungeons
While this potentially new seasonal dungeon was not a part of the Season 12 PTR, it was mentioned multiple times within the Season Journey, which makes it highly likely it was simply not fully ready for the PTR. We should hear more about the Slaughterhouse Dungeon in the March 5th developer livestream.
This wasn’t the only surprise mention, as other achievements reference playing as the Butcher, with certain lines reading, “Gain (x) amount of kills as the Butcher.” It is thought to be a part of these new Slaughterhouse Dungeons as well, and potentially be triggered by achieving a certain number of kills for your Killstreak.
New Uniques
There will be five new Uniques added in Season 12, most of which can be used by all classes, with some being class-restricted due to weapon type.
| Unique Name | Gear Slot | Unique Power |
| Blood-Mad Idol | Amulet | Grants permanent Berserking, but you take 200%(x) increased Burning damage over 8 seconds whenever you are struck. While burning, your Berserking damage bonus is further increased by 75-125%(x) |
| Wendigo Brand | Ring | Every 15 kills in the last 30-60 seconds increases your Damage by 2%(x) and Maximum Health by 1%. |
| Wyrdskin | Gloves | Attacks apply Vulnerable to Distant Enemies, and Weakened to Close Enemies. You deal 10-30%(x) increased damage to Enemies that are both Vulnerable and Weakened. |
| Rustbitten Dirk | Dagger | Deal 50-100%(x) increased damage to isolated enemies. |
| Thousand-Eye Reaver | 1H Axe | Moving grants Ferocity, and Maximum Ferocity is increased by 1-3. Ferocity also increases Movement Speed by 4-8% per stack. |
These new Uniques have the highest chance of being dropped within Bloody Sigil activities, although they can drop at a lower rate from anywhere, the same way existing Uniques can.
Additionally, for more information on how to farm Uniques from bosses, we recommend visiting our respective guide below.
