The Spiritborn class in Diablo 4 has access to 24 different skills in six categories. Each skill also has 2 side upgrade paths, allowing you to choose from 1 of 2 bonuses to that specific skill, and a set of 3 Variations which more significantly change how that skill functions. The third Variation for each skill is only available if you own the Lord of Hatred expansion.

This section provides a brief overview of the Spiritborn skills as well as their upgrade and variations. For more general information about the class, refer to our Spiritborn Leveling Guide.


Spiritborn Basic Skills

Basic Skills are spammable skills with the primary purpose of generating Vigor, the Resource used by other skills. Because they are free and have no cooldown, they are used to fill empty time while waiting for other, more powerful skills to become available. Basic Skills are also a good way to inflict debuffs like Vulnerable, Thorns, or Poison.

Fist of the ForestWithering Fist becomes a Gorilla Skill that deals Physical damage.
Withering Fist’s 3rd attack releases a shockwave that deals 50% damage. It grants Barrier equal to 5% of your Maximum Health for 6 seconds per enemy hit, up to 60%.

Wanton RampageThrash’s 1st and 2nd attacks have a 30% chance to also unleash its 3rd attack that is 100% larger and deals x2% increased damage.
Crashing and ThrashingThrash’s 3rd attack deals x50% increased damage. Thrash continues to unleash its 3rd attack if Cast again within 2.5 seconds.
Storm ConjurerThrash becomes an Eagle Skill that deals Lightning damage.
Thrash’s 3rd attack deals 100% damage and creates a moving Spirit Storm that Sparks enemies for 150% damage.

Lightning DancerWhen you Evade, you attack with Thunderspike along the way for 100% of normal damage.
Infected GroundThunderspike becomes a Centipede Skill that deals Poison damage.
Thunderspike leaves a trail of poison that deals 40% damage over 6 seconds.

Shattered StoneRock Splitter increases your Thorns by 3 for 5 seconds and your 3rd attack deals 100% of your Thorns to enemies.
Unbreakable
Rock Splitter’s 3rd attack grants a Barrier for 5% of your Maximum Life for 5 seconds and generates Resolve.
Inner FerocityRock Splitter becomes a Jaguar Skill that deals Fire damage.
Rock Splitter’s 3rd attack hits twice, dealing 75% damage each hit. If you have 4 stacks of Ferocity, hit an additional time.

Spiritborn Core Skills

The Spiritborn class uses Core Skills to spend Resource (Vigor) to deliver powerful attacks! Core skills are among the strongest skills for most classes, including the Spiritborn. However, while they have no cooldown, their biggest drawback is their Vigor cost.

Potent StingStinger now always deals its damage to surrounding enemies, even if they are not Poisoned. If they were Poisoned, it deals x50% increased damage.
Unleash the SwarmStinger spawns 3 Pestilent Swarms that deal 100% damage.
Nimbostratal StrikeStinger becomes an Eagle Skill that deals Lightning damage.
Stinger strikes a small area, dealing 150% damage and creating a Spirit Storm that Sparks enemies for 150% damage. Your other Spirit Storms also deal 150% damage.

Rake

Spirit JaguarRake manifests a spirit Jaguar which rakes a random enemy dealing 40% damage before exploding for 50% damage.
Grasping ClawRake is 20% larger. Rake’s initial hit pulls in enemies at its edge and hits enemies again for 60% damage.
If Rake only hits a single target, it deals x100% increased damage.
Simian SwipeRake becomes a Gorilla Skill that deals Physical damage.
Rake sweeps in front of you, dealing 175% damage and gaining a stack of Resolve if you hit an enemy.

Fiery SoulToxic Skin becomes a Jaguar Skill that deals Fire damage.
Passive: Whenever you receive Healing, gain +25% Critical Strike Damage until your next Critical Strike, up to +200%.
Active: Jaguar energy flows through you, automatically slashing Close enemies for 60% damage every 0.5 seconds for 5 seconds.

Ravager

Insect SwarmVortex becomes a Centipede Skill that deals Poison damage.
Vortex creates a wave of insects that swarm around you, dealing 20% damage and Slowing enemies by 90% for 5 seconds. They create a Poison nova, damaging enemies for 175% damage over 5 seconds.

Defensive Skills help to improve the Spiritborn’s defensive capabilities, whether through a Barrier, Crowd Control, or escaping incoming melee strikes as fast as possible.

Ferocious MealArmored Hide becomes a Jaguar Skill that deals Fire damage.
Passive: Each time you take damage, gain a stack of Ferocity.
Active: Perform large slashes all around you, dealing 125% damage twice. Restore 2% of your Maximum Life each time this damages an enemy. Receive 25% increased Healing for 3 seconds.

Crushing BlowConcussive Stomp hits in a circle around you and deals 500% increased damage to Unstoppable enemies and Bosses.
Crackling EarthConcussive Stomp becomes an Eagle Skill, deals Lightning damage, and has a 7 second Cooldown.
Concussive Stomp electrifies the ground, Sparking enemies for 400% Damage over 2 seconds and causing them to drop a Storm Feather.

Asymmetrical WarfareCounterattack’s Passive now also retaliates against all Close enemies for 100% damage when you Dodge any attack.
Counterattack of the SwarmCounterattack becomes a Centipede Skill that deals Poison damage.
Passive: Your Pestilent Swarms Weaken enemies.
Active: Send out 3 Pestilent Swarms that deal 150% damage each second for 3 seconds.

Hive MindScourge grants you 15% Damage Reduction and continuously affects enemies around you for 4.5 seconds.
Scourge CommanderScourge now appears at your target location and deals an extra 80% damage. This amount is increased by 200% against Vulnerable enemies.
The Beast WithinScourge becomes a Gorilla Skill.
Unleash the power of the Gorilla, gaining 1 Thorns for each surrounding enemy for 5 seconds and triggering a Thorns attack dealing 200% against them. Repeat this damage every 0.75 seconds for 1.5 seconds.

VariationsDescription
Break FreeBecoming Control Impaired while Payback is on Cooldown makes it free to Cast and grants you Unstoppable and 40% Damage Reduction for 3 seconds. Can only occur once every 8 seconds.
Wrath of the GorillaPayback is also a Core Skill that costs 70 Vigor, has no Cooldown, and deals 275% damage.
When attacked, you have a 5% chance to gain 70 Vigor instead.
Insidious RetributionPayback becomes a Centipede Skill that deals Poison damage.
Payback smashes enemies in front of you, Poisoning them for 330% damage over 6 seconds and increasing your Thorns by 30% for 5 seconds.
Whenever you Crowd Control an enemy, reduce Payback’s Cooldown by 0.1 seconds.

Refund ChargesRazor Wings has a 10% chance to regain a Charge when hitting an enemy. Double this chance if you have an active Barrier.

Wing StormWhen Razor Wings hits an enemy for the first time, creates a Spirit Storm that Sparks enemies for 150% damage. For each active Spirit Storm, Razor Wings deals x15% increased damage.
Flock of FeathersRazor Wings last 300% longer and spiral outwards.
Brutal BlastRazor Wings becomes a Gorilla Skill that deals Physical damage.
Razor Wings generates 2 Resolve and fires a slow moving burst of energy that continually pulses, dealing 100% damage every 0.5 seconds.

Rushing Claw

VariationsDescription
Evolving ClawsRushing Claw deals 30% increased damage and is empowered based on how many Charges it has when you Cast it:
1: Heals 15% of your Maximum Life.
2: Guaranteed to Critically Strike.
3: Gain 100% Dodge Chance for 1.5 seconds.
4+: Strikes an additional time.
Colossal ClawRushing Claw now has 12 Maximum Charges. Casting it consumes all Charges to increase its damage by x50% per Charge and it hits a larger area.
Rushing Claw’s Cooldown refreshes 10% faster for each Ferocity you have.

VariationsDescription
Erupting SwarmTouch of Death’s swarm bursts every second, applying 90% Poisoning damage over 6 seconds to surrounding enemies.
Swarm of SwarmsTouch of Death is also a Core Skill which costs 70 Vigor and has no Cooldown.
When a swarm is replaced early, it bursts for 150% of the damage it would have done.
Touch of LightningTouch of Death becomes an Eagle Skill that deals Lightning damage.
Touch of Death strikes an enemy, dealing 150% damage and conjuring a Spirit Storm which Sparks enemies for 375% damage. If the enemy dies before the Spirit Storm dissipates, conjure a second moving Spirit Storm.
When you conjure a Spirit Storm, reduce Touch of Death’s Cooldown by 1 second.

Brutal BarrageThe Protector also deals 175% damage to enemies around you with each smash. Spend up to 3 stacks of Resolve to increase The Protector’s damage by 100% for each stack spent.
The Infected ForestThe Protector is also a Centipede Skill.
The Centipede Spirit aids The Protector, poisoning enemies for 100% damage each second, Weakening them, and spawning Pestilent Swarms that deal 100% damage.

Tag TeamThe Seeker is also a Jaguar Skill.
The Jaguar Spirit aids The Seeker, granting you 4 Ferocity and slashing 3 times dealing 75% Fire Damage. The Seeker gains 2 additional Charges.

The Hunter

Relentless PursuitThe Hunter overfills your Ferocity by 2 stacks. Killing enemies while with it active has a 40% chance to instantly reset its Cooldown. This chance is halved after each consecutive reset.
ShredderThe Hunter strikes an additional 5 times and consumes all of your Ferocity to deal x20% increased damage per Ferocity.
Push and PounceThe Hunter is also a Gorilla Skill.
The Gorilla Spirit knocks enemies towards The Hunter’s landing spot, dealing 150% Physical damage and Knocking Down enemies on landing for 2 seconds. Each enemy you damage with The Hunter grants Resolve, which can overfill your Resolve by 4 stacks.

The Devourer

VariationsDescription
Spew PutrefactionAs it emerges, The Devourer launches 10 toxic globs that apply 35% Poisoning damage over 6 seconds wherever they land. Enemies affected by toxic globs also take x50% increased Poison Damage.
Blast of BileThe Devourer now only blasts enemies in a line once, dealing 800% damage, before leaving.
The Devourer is now also a Potency Skill and has a 18 second cooldown.
Sky and SoilThe Devourer is also an Eagle Skill.
The Eagle Spirit aids The Devourer, creating a Lightning Storm that Sparks enemies for 80% damage each second and makes enemies Vulnerable. Gain 20% Movement Speed while The Devourer is active.

Spiritborn Dismount Skill

While mounted, the Spiritborn has access to a unique Dismount Skill that allows them to leap off the mount and slam down on enemies with a powerful lightning attack that is similar to other skills of the Eagle Guardian Spirit. Players that are struck by an enemy are automatically dismounted and are unable to use their Dismount Ability until they mount back.
